Nurses Clinics

At Avenue Veterinary Centre we are very fortunate to have a large team of experience and dedicated nurses, including our Pet Health Counsellor, Lydia.

Our qualified nurses run Nurses Clinics every week day between 2.15pm and 6pm and Saturday 9.30-10.30am. Should you need to be seen out side these hours, this can hopefully be arranged by discussing with our reception team a more suitable time.

The majority of clinics are FREE ! Examples of these are:

  • Advice on nutrition, worming and flea treatments throughout your pets life
  • Post operative checks and stitch removal
  • Dental checks and advice on caring for your pets teeth
  • Rabbits health checks
  • Weight clinics
  • Diabetes clinics
  • Mobility clinics
  • Basic training and behavioural advice
  • Bereavement support

Some of our qualified nurse have gone on to do further training in the dispensing of certain legal categories of drugs. Many flea and worm treatments know fall in to these legal drug categories and dispensing laws. By having qualified SQPs in our team, we are able to dispense these products with out you needing to see a veterinary surgeon, whilst being sound in the knowledge you are getting professional and up-to-date advice when speaking to our staff.

Our nurses also offer a range of services, which are competitively priced, for well pets. This enables you to have your pet treated with out the need to pay a full consultation fee. These include:

  • Identi-chip
  • Expression of anal glands
  • Tick removal
  • Tablet/ injection administration
  • Club 8+
  • Nails clipped
  • Bandage changes
